One of the most overlooked ways of promoting any business is the through the use custom promotional products. These are the products such as pens, paper tablets, t-shirts and many other items that consumers have a need for each day of their lives.

The idea is that by placing an advertisement on each of these custom promotional products your customer's will see your name each time they use it, which translates in to more business for you.

  2. Take the time to plan and think about how you want to give out the custom promotional product. Try to find a promotion that can directly bring the customer to your business or website in order to get the free item. Sports teams do this all the time with all of their promotions.
  3. If at all possible take the time to also come up with a theme that directly ties into your custom promotional product. There are lots of ideas and examples available to you, all you need to do is keep your eyes open for new ideas and be creative.
  4. One of the biggest mistakes is to pick an item because no one else has it. You want to be careful about which items you use because you want your customer to use it not just throw it in a drawer.
  5. Utilize as many free giveaways as possible to allow customer's to receive your custom promotional products. Some of places you could go would be trade shows, sporting events or any number of other places. Again maybe you could key the give away item to the event.
  6. Be careful not to overdo the custom promotional products because there are so many out there some customer's get tired of seeing them. Learn to know when enough is enough.

Custom promotional products can work to draw people to you place of business if used correctly and in moderation, the trick is learning when to use, where to use them and how to use them.
